Arlington Democrats’ County Board Caucus – Last Chance To Vote!

Saturday, January 21st

The Arlington Democrats’ County Board Caucus will be held from 11am to 7pm on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Kenmore Middle School (200 S. Carlin Springs Rd.)

Volunteers are needed and welcome Saturday between 9am and 10pm! Just show up and we will plug you in to the most critical need.

2012 Arlington Young Democrats’ Kick-Off Meeting and State Of The Union Watch Party

Join AYD for our 2012 kick-off meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24th. We will introduce our new executive board, talk about what’s ahead for 2012, and rally to support our president! Following the meeting, stay to watch the State of the Union with your fellow AYDers. Food will also be provided. Garage parking is available at Ballston Mall. Bailey’s is a short walk from the Ballston metro (Orange Line). We hope to see you there!

Arlington Young Democrats’ Women’s Caucus Event

Roe v. Wade Anniversary Vigil at the US Supreme Court

Monday, Jan. 23rd- 5pm

Join the AYD Women’s Caucus, activists from the National Organization for Women (“NOW”), and other pro-choice organizations as we gather for a vigil at the US Supreme Court to mark the anniversary of the Roe vs Wade decision.

If you are planning on attending with AYD, please plan to meet with Women’s Caucus Chair Paradise Kendra at 4:40pm, on the NORTHEAST corner of Independence Ave SE and 1st St SE.

TODAY, January 21st, is your final opportunity to vote for one of five Democratic candidates in the Arlington Democrats County Board Caucus (In ballot order)

Turnout for this caucus is expected to be around 2.5% of all registered voters in Arlington County; your vote WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

AYD January Community Service Event

Please join us in supporting the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC, 2708 South Nelson Street, Arlington VA) for our monthly community service event on January 18th 6:30pm until 8:00pm. We will join volunteers to help bag 3000 lbs of chicken leg quarters for the hungry.

AYD Roe v. Wade Anniversary Vigil on Jan. 23rd at the US Supreme Court

Join the AYD Women’s Caucus, activists from NOW and other pro-choice organizations as we gather for a vigil at the US Supreme Court to mark the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

Lobby Day Event on Jan 16th!

Join AYD and our friends from America’s Impact (https://www.facebook.com/AmericasImpact) as we travel to Richmond to participate in Lobby Day with the Virginia Young Democrats (VAYD).

We will depart from Arlington Democrats HQ in Courthouse at 6am (2009 14th St. N., Arlington, VA, 22201) and plan to return no later than 9pm.

Breakfast will be served by VAYD. Lunch, parking, gas (and car rental if necessary) will be reimbursed by AYD.

Lobby Day will take place at the General Assembly Building on 910 Capitol Street in Richmond, Virginia. VAYD will have issues, talking points, and bill numbers prepared in a packet for attendees.

We will spend a full day of lobbying, followed by a happy hour event with friends and supporters of VAYD. Make sure your voice is heard by those who lead our state government this year by signing up today!

We will spend a full day of lobbying, followed by a happy hour with friends and supporters of the Virgina Young Democrats.

This is a great networking opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about politics at the state level!
