Volunteers Wanted!

AMEN helps individuals and families during a financial emergency by offering a "hand up", often preventing homelessness. Their Furniture Bank needs help collecting, delivering, and organizing furniture for clients leaving shelters and re-establishing their own residences. Members with large vehicles--pickup trucks, SUVs, vans, etc.-- are especially encouraged to volunteer (we know, good Democrats don't own SUVs but we have to ask!).

Seeking: 5 volunteers for Saturday, February 24th from 10am to 1pm

Location: 1175 Patrick Henry Drive Arlington, VA 22205 (meet there and AYDs can go out for lunch afterwards)

2nd Annual Metro-Area Young Dem "Commonwealth Meets Capitol Hill" Networking Night

Sponsored by the Arlington Young Democrats, join young dems (and the young-at-heart) from VA, DC and MD at Top of the Hill for our second annual happy hour to get local progressives to socialize, network and build relationships for working together in 2007 and 2008. Over 150 attendees are expected, so don't miss it!
