The African American Caucus of the Arlington Young Democrats’ vision is to organize young African Americans who live in Arlington, to connect with other young black professionals in the DC Metro Area, and to stay excited and active in politics. Our group’s larger mission is to encourage and help blacks in the DC Metro community to stay active in electing people that will act on behalf of the needs of the black community. This includes aiding in campaign movements for black politicians or those who are addressing issues in the black community; holding roundtable discussions with black activists in the area; and making sure that we, as a people, are aware of and understand the legislation that is being passed on the Hill.
