African American Caucus
The mission of the African-American Caucus is to increase voter registration and the participation of young African-Americans in the Democratic Party. The Caucus will gather and provide information, seek feedback, and implement strategies with regards to issues affecting the African-American community. Caucus members will coordinate cross-organizational efforts throughout Arlington to ensure that young African-Americans continue to play an increasingly vital role in the Democratic Party. Latino Caucus
The mission of the Latino Caucus is to increase Latino voter registration and participation in our Party. The objectives of the Caucus will be to build relationships with Latino organizations and community groups, address issues of importance to Latinos in Arlington and Virginia, and develop strategies to implement these goals. Message Caucus
The mission of the Message Caucus includes helping to create and promote, through suggestions and research, a consistent and positive message for the Arlington Young Democrats. The mission also includes education on political and community issues the Arlington Young Democrats deem relevant. These issues consist of, but are not limited to: information on local elected officials and their offices, information regarding upcoming elections, referenda, petitions, or other community actions, and information on contemporary policy issues. Finally, the mission includes promoting awareness of the Arlington Young Democrats, and its goals and achievements, to other young members of the Arlington community. Women's Caucus
AYD has formed a Women’s Caucus to focus on women’s issues. Of course, men are welcome to join as well. Meetings are generally held on Tuesdays. To join the caucus or for more information, contact Elisa Ortiz.
