AYD Knocktoberfest Trivia Night

Join the Arlington Young Democrats, candidates, and local Democratic leaders and guests for a night of socializing and trivia on October 9th at 6pm! Extra points will be given to attendees for canvassing before the event. Help us #KeepVirginiaBlue! ⠀
Food and beverages will be provided and don’t worry about forming a team beforehand, teams will be randomized before the games begin night of!

AYD Canvass: Briana Sewell, Elizabeth Guzman, & VA Dems

Join us for another AYD Canvass double header! On Saturday, September 25th, we’ll be heading out again to Woodbridge, but this time to knock doors for Briana Sewell from HoD District 51. We’ll then head out to Warrenton later in the day to help out Elizabeth Guzman for HoD District 31. We’ll be meeting up at Clarendon’s Northside Social at 9:15am to carpool out by 9:30am in order to arrive in Woodbridge, VA to canvass from 10am-1pm. We’ll then take a break for lunch and then drive over to Warrenton to canvass from 4pm-6pm. We should arrive back in Arlington by approximately 7pm.
The first canvass launch location address is 12350 Cotton Mill Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22192. The second canvass launch location is 7122 Baldwin Ridge Rd, Warrenton, VA 20187. Please come dressed in appropriate attire for walking outside for long periods of time (think: athletic clothing, tennis shoes, sunglasses, baseball cap or visor), and keep an eye on the forecast. We recommend you wear sunscreen, bring water and snacks, and come with a fully charged phone as we will most likely be using an app to canvass.
For safety regarding COVID-19, we ask that all volunteers be vaccinated. Masks are also required for volunteering.

AYD Progressive Foreign Policy Panel

Join us and our Veterans & Foreign Affairs Caucus for our AYD Progressive Foreign Policy Panel on September 21st at 7pm via Zoom. We’ll be hearing from a few foreign policy professionals about various topical issues and there will be an opportunity for Q&A. Our panelists will be Matt Duss (Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator Bernie Sanders), Maha Hilal, PhD (Co-Director of Justice for Muslims Collective), and Ally Harpootlian (Communications Strategist at ACLU). The meeting will also be streamed live to our AYD Facebook Page.

AYD September Social Hour

Help us celebrate the first day of early voting in Virginia by joining us for our AYD September Social Hour on Friday, September 17th at 7pm.
Our monthly social hours are a great opportunity to meet new people, learn how to get involved, and catch up with your fellow young Dems! Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there!
The location for this event is Ireland’s Four Courts, right off the Courthouse Metro. There is street parking available nearby as well.

Arlington Blue Families Potluck Picnic

The biggest Arlington Blue Families event of the year is vaxxed and back in person (outdoors and masked), with food, fun, floofy alpacas, and firing ourselves up to keep Virginia blue. We’ll be joined by Rep. Don Beyer, three of our adopted House of Delegates candidates (Josh Cole, Briana Sewell, and Paul Siker), and other special guests.

Arlington Dems Chili Cook-off

Join fellow Arlington Democrats and chili-lovers from around the Commonwealth this Labor Day at the Arlington Joint Campaign Committee’s IN-PERSON Kick Off Event – THE CHILI COOK OFF!
We’ll get fired up for election season and vote (early and often) for the best Democratic chili in Arlington. The competition will be fierce, but we know our candidates are up to the challenge. Please Note: All chili is served with a side of cornbread and democratic values.
